Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of every child is our top priority. We are committed to creating a safe, caring environment where all pupils feel supported and protected.
All of our staff and volunteers are carefully recruited. They undergo enhanced DBS checks and provide two references before starting their role. Our safeguarding policies are reviewed every year by our governing body, and governors receive regular training, including Safer Recruitment, to ensure we are always following best practice.
If you ever have a concern about a child’s safety or wellbeing, please contact Mrs Jones, our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). She is here to listen and to help.
We believe in working closely with families. If we are concerned about a child, we will usually talk with parents or carers first. However, there may be times when we need to share information with other professionals to keep a child safe.
We are part of Operation Encompass, a national scheme that helps schools support children who may have been affected by domestic incidents. This means we may be informed before the start of the school day so we can provide extra care and support when it is needed.
